What works

  • Free plan stores up to 100,000 contacts
  • Paid plans are priced by emails sent, not by list size
  • Email, SMS, WhatsApp and a basic CRM in one account
  • Reviewers often describe the editor as easy to use

What doesn't

  • Free emails carry Brevo branding; removing it is a paid add-on
  • Support quality is the most common complaint in user reviews
  • Reporting is basic on lower tiers
  • Add-ons can push the real monthly cost above the headline price

What Brevo is

Brevo (called Sendinblue until 2023) is an email marketing platform for small and mid-sized businesses. Besides newsletters and automations, it bundles SMS and WhatsApp campaigns, a simple sales CRM, and transactional email for apps and stores.

Its main difference from Mailchimp and most competitors is how it charges: paid plans are based on how many emails you send each month, not on how many contacts you store.

Pricing at a glance

These are the entry prices we found on October 24, 2026. Brevo shows prices by region and currency, and independent sources don't all agree, so treat them as a guide and confirm on Brevo's site.

Plan Entry price What changes
Free $0 300 emails per day, up to 100,000 contacts, Brevo logo on emails
Starter about $9/month (5,000 emails) No daily cap; logo removal is an extra add-on
Standard about $18/month Adds more automation and reporting features
Professional about $499/month (150,000 emails) Advanced features and higher volume
Enterprise Custom Custom contracts

What this means in practice: a shop with 20,000 past customers who emails them twice a month sends 40,000 emails. On Brevo that's priced on the 40,000 sends. On a contact-based tool it's priced on 20,000 contacts, which can cost more. If you email a small list very often, the math can flip the other way.

What users praise

Across public reviews, the most consistent positives are:

  • Ease of use. Reviewers often call the campaign editor intuitive and setup simple.
  • Value. Several reviewers say it's cheaper than the alternatives they tried, especially for large lists.
  • A usable free tier. 300 emails a day is enough to test real campaigns.

What users complain about

  • Support. This is the most frequent complaint. Some reviewers describe slow or unhelpful answers, including one billing problem that blocked sending. Others report quick, helpful replies, so experiences vary.
  • Deliverability. Many users report good inbox placement. A minority report campaigns landing in spam. As with any provider, setting up SPF, DKIM and DMARC on your domain matters, and some reviewers found that step confusing.
  • Reporting on cheaper plans is described as basic.
  • Add-on costs. Removing the Brevo logo, extra users and some features cost extra, so the real bill can exceed the headline price.

Who Brevo fits

  • Small businesses with large contact lists and modest sending frequency.
  • Teams that want email, SMS and a simple CRM in one tool.
  • Anyone who wants a free plan with a real contact allowance for testing.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Creators and newsletter writers who want landing pages, paid subscriptions and creator-focused features: look at Kit (formerly ConvertKit).
  • Developers who only need to send transactional email from code: a developer-first API such as Resend or Postmark is simpler.
  • Teams that need guaranteed fast support on a low budget should test Brevo's support during the free plan before moving a list over.

Bottom line

Brevo's pricing by emails sent makes it one of the better values for small businesses with big lists. Start on the free plan, send a few real campaigns, check inbox placement and contact support once with a real question. If all three go well, it's a solid choice.
